Summary of What We Believe:
- In one God. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Creator and sustainer of everything. Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:15-17; John 1:1-3.
- That the Bible is the inspired word of God. It is completely trustworthy, true and timeless. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Proverbs 30:5; Psalm 119:105.
- That all people are created in God’s image, are of equal worth, and that all are guilty of doing wrong which separates everyone from God. Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:9-10; Isaiah 59:2.
- That Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, was born as a human to a virgin mother. Fully human, yet fully God. Luke 1:34-35; John 1:14; Colossians 2:9.
- That Jesus lived a perfect life on earth, and died for our sins on the cross. Philippians 2:7-8; 1 John 3:5; Romans 5:6-11.
- That Jesus defeated death: He rose and ascended into heaven. Revelation 1:18; Matthew 28:5-6; Mark 16:19.
- That all who trust Jesus as their Saviour are forgiven and accepted by God. 1 John 1:9; Romans 3:22; Romans 8:1.
- That the Holy Spirit works in our hearts enabling us to believe. The Holy Spirit lives within every believer. Romans 8:11; John 16:8; 1 Corinthians 6:19.
- That one day Jesus will return to Earth in person to judge everyone. All those who trust in Jesus will have eternal life with Him. Those who reject Jesus will be banished from God’s presence forever. Jesus Christ is the only way to God. Matthew 25:21; Romans 6:23; John 14:6.
- We meet together as a church so we can get to know Jesus Christ better and to make Him better known. Hebrews 10:25; Romans 10:14; Mark 16:15.
